ABP South Wales

ABP's South Wales Ports - Barry, Cardiff, Newport, Port Talbot, and Swansea - handle more than 12 million tonnes of cargo each year.

Our five South Wales ports cover an area of 3,800 acres and contribute £1.4 billion to the UK economy. Along with our customers, we support close to 15,000 jobs across Wales.

Heavy industry has a major influence on the cargoes handled at the South Wales Ports, but there is also an increasing range of other cargoes, including forest products, recyclables, agribulk products and bulk liquids.

With a substantial land bank to support development of a range of projects, South Wales is involved in a significant number of renewable energy schemes such as the Barry Solar farm & the installation of wind turbines across South Wales Ports. By the end of 2016 ABP South Wales will be home to over 10MW of renewable energy projects.
